Hi, I'm Andrew 👋, a photographer based in London, London, England, available for photography services across the surrounding areas.
My photography is centred around people, identity and authentic human stories. After a varied career spanning photography, international development, humanitarian work and community projects around the world, I returned to photography with a renewed focus on capturing individuality, character and connection.
Growing up in Yorkshire, my interest in photography began through a friend's camera and a formative photography course in the Derbyshire Peak District. Although my early ambitions took me in other directions, including work overseas in remote environments and humanitarian projects, photography remained an important creative influence throughout my life.
My experiences working across Australia, Madagascar, Oman, Yemen, Ethiopia and Bosnia gave me the opportunity to meet people from many different cultures and backgrounds. These experiences shaped the way I see the world and continue to influence my approach to photography today.
I use my camera as a way of engaging with people and documenting authentic experiences. My work focuses on character, personality and the unique qualities that make each person who they are.
Whether photographing cultural traditions, personal expression, celebrations or everyday life, I aim to create respectful images that reflect how people choose to be seen. Building trust and making a genuine connection, even in a brief encounter, is central to my approach.
My photography is about observing rather than judging – creating images that celebrate individuality, culture and the stories behind the people I photograph.
I believe there is a responsibility that comes with photographing someone. Every image should be created with respect, honesty and understanding, showing people as they truly are and in a way that honours their trust.
