I will also talk in depth about my passion - lighting. Whether you are working with available light or adding light, control is the key.
In the Masterclass we will be looking at making the most of the available light, both outdoors and indoors . Looking at how to plan shoots to make the most of what light is there. Looking at what can be achieved when working with minimal lighting, ie speed lights, small LED lights and reflectors. I will also show many examples of my imagery to talk through the techniques used to light really big spaces, and also smaller intimate spaces, with studio-style battery powered flash lighting, with images of before and after the space has been lit, to show the difference. I will look at how to shape the light in many different ways not just with different reflectors, but also by making use of what is available in the scene, in some cases making the space itself the reflector.
Photography has been very good to me, taking me to many locations around the world and I will talk through many of my international shoots, the ins and outs of working around the world in different locations from Asia, Middle East, Japan and even to the outback mines of Australia. I will speak about the problems of logistics, of getting yourself and the kit to the location and how to improvise when many miles from home. I will also show and talk about some of the corporate photography shoots I get involved in both nationally and international, and how to light and approach this kind of photography.
