Cabling and Interconnectivity
Much has changed since 2008. USB has progressed from USB 1 to USB 3 and has now been overtaken by USB Type C. Type C has some compatibility with Thunderbolt interfaces thus giving access to 40Gbps transfer speeds. Wound into all this USB connectivity is the requirement to provide power for charging and operating some devices, it's a bit of a minefield that needs a little bit of caution. Despite costing only £12 the card reader is the most frequently used peripheral on the front of the computer - the power button gets used once per day but cards readers can be in and out like yoyos!
