So Richard’s business is very different now. He spends most of his time in London but still shoots advertising and editorial projects in additional to his own personal work. Last year he travelled to 10 different countries with work but now feels a bit more in control of his schedule. When you feel happier with your life, your work gets better and Richard won a record number of awards over the past 12 months. He won an International Color Award, BIPP Award, MPA Award, and, of course, he is the current Societies' Advertising & Commercial Photographer of the Year. He was also live on stage at The NEC Photography Show in March demonstrating the skill of capturing exploding water balloons and creating an amazing bullet time 3D images in front of a massive crowd.
In October this year Richard was presented with a coveted Association Of Photographers (AOP) Award, winning the prize for Best Editorial for an image shot for The Guinness Book Of World Records in Germany last year, so things are looking better than even. He believes that life is more fulfilling when you take control and runs sell-out workshops for photographers on many different subjects. He believes that marketing your business is as important as expanding your technical knowledge and has mentored many young photographers to greater success. Variety is the spice of life and with three children and a thriving business Richard has plenty of it.
